Taylor Design was tasked with remodeling an existing single-occupancy laboratory into a collaborative, and adaptable prototype that could be replicated on similar spaces throughout the building. The project scope included general lab and office space, as well as specialized areas including tissue culture, freezer farm/incubator, cell culture, and microscopy rooms.

To ensure the space met the University’s needs, while allowing for future recruitment and flexibility, Taylor Design worked closely with multiple stakeholders, including UCI Facilities, the School of Biological Sciences, and Primary Investigators.
