As a part of the Sequoias Portola Valley master plan, phase 1 prioritized essential campus upgrades. The design team were inspired by the concepts of dense urban villages in China and the beauty of palatial Japanese architecture to establish a campus that harmonized with the rural setting. These upgrades included a new building entry, guest rooms, staff spaces, fitness center, outdoor patio, dining room incorporated with the latest technology, and art gallery.
