Taylor Design led the remodel and expansion of Sutter Health’s Diagnostic Imaging Department, incorporating space repurposed from the vacated oncology department. The project reconfigures the MRI suite and entry to add two new GE MRIs, two control rooms and a shared MRI equipment room. An adjacent MRI trailer was also added to accommodate the growing demand for imaging services. In addition to the MRI suite, four patient information reading rooms have been repurposed from offices, and dressing rooms, registration and waiting areas have been updated and enhanced to align with updated Sutter standards. The design focuses on elevating the patient, caretaker, and staff experience through warm natural tones, intuitive wayfinding, and cleanable, durable materials. Thoughtful finishes and imagery create a sense of sophisticated comfort while reinforcing a welcoming, cohesive identity throughout the department.
