With patient need increasing across San Joaquin County, Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center partnered with Taylor Design and Boldt Construction in a design-build delivery to expand and renovate its pediatric unit. Transforming a partial wing into a full pediatric department, the project increased capacity from 10 to 18 beds and introduced new exam and procedure rooms, a centralized playroom, and upgraded infrastructure. Thoughtful design elements, including open sightlines, child-friendly artwork, and accessible nurses’ stations, create a welcoming, supportive environment. Patient rooms accommodate families, while dedicated treatment spaces preserve areas for rest and recovery.
